Overview

The map designer is one of the core features of Centrix, it provides a drag and drop style interface to allow the creation of replay maps and more.

General Usage

Toolbar

The first section of the toolbar on the left allows new objects to be added to the map, click and drag the icons onto the map to crate the object.

  • UP/DN indicator - an indicator which displays "UP" when the channel is up and "DN" when the channel is down.
  • White/Grey indicator - an indicator which is white when the channel is up and grey when the channel is down.
  • Red/Grey indicator - an indicator which is red when the channel is up and grey when the channel is down.
  • Analog value indication - an indicator which shows the value of an analog channel based on the current playback time.
  • Platform/building object - a coloured rectangle which can be used to represent a station platform, signal box, road, REB etc.
  • Auto signal - an automatic signal which has no channels associated with it.
  • Custom image - a custom image in PNG, JPEG or GIF can be uploaded and added to the map.
  • Caption - a text caption to be added to the map.
  • Site link - a link to another Centrix site can be added to the map.

The second section of the toolbar on the right consists of tools useful when editing the map.

  • Rotate selected objects(s) left.
  • Rotate selected objects(s) right.
  • Flip selected objects(s) horizontally.
  • Flip selected objects(s) vertically.
  • Bring selected objects(s) to the front.
  • Send selected objects(s) to the back.
  • Edit the selected object (only one object should be selected).
  • Delete the selected object(s).
  • Zoom the map canvas in.
  • Zoom the map canvas out.
  • Toggle gridlines on and off.
  • Show/hide the asset link arrows (experimental feature).

Generate Assets

The asset generation function will attempt to create map assets based on the existing channels that are available for a site. For sites that have an SA380 series data logger installed, communication must have been established at least once between the data logger and Centrix before the channel names are available. If a DIP file is available for the data logger a manual import can be performed by the Centrix support team ahead of communication being available with the data logger.

The asset generator will scan through the list of existing channels and attempt to match specific patterns to populate the fields for the various types of assets. The table below shows the assets generated based on matching different names.

Create New Assets

This dialog allows new assets to be manually created, this is useful if the "generate assets" feature didn't pickup everything. All of the new asset dialogs allow for a name to be specified, this will typically match the name on the track digram.

Track Circuit

  • TR - Track circuit relay
  • UR - First route relay
  • UR2 - Second route relay
  • Approaching TC/Points (experimental) - The track circuit on approach to this one, can be automatically filled in by "Generate Asset links" feature.
  • Following TC/Points (experimental) - The track circuit following this one, can be automatically filled in by "Generate Asset links" feature.

Points

  • NWKR - Normal points indicating relay
  • RWKR - Reverse points indicating relay
  • TR - Track circuit relay
  • UR - First route relay
  • UR2 - Second route relay
  • Approaching TC/Points (experimental) - The track circuit on approach to these points, can be automatically filled in by "Generate Asset links" feature.
  • Following TC/Points Position 1 (experimental) - The track circuit following these points, can be automatically filled in by "Generate Asset links" feature.
  • Following TC/Points Position 1 (experimental) - The track circuit following these points can be automatically filled in by "Generate Asset links" feature.

2/3/4 Aspect Signal

  • RGPR - Red signal relay
  • HGPR - Yellow signal relay
  • HHGPR - Double yellow signal relay (4 aspect only)
  • DGPR - Green signal relay
